Erpingham's Winter Performance - Cinderella
It is hard to imagine that such a small school could put on a such big perfomance isn't it? If you agree then you have obviously not met the children and staff at Erpingham Primary School. On Friday 10th December 2010 they put on a fantastic performance of Cinderella with a twist!
As in the traditional version of the story, Cinderella is stopped from going to the ball by her Ugly Stepsisters. Her Magic Fairy transforms her and sends her off to enjoy her evening. However as the clock strikes twelve and Cinderella loses her slipper on the stairs, one off the Ugly Stepsisters replaces the shoe with one her own. "Ah-ha, you see, the plot grows thicker, and Cindy's luck starts looking sicker!"
The children had great fun rehearsing the play and really enjoyed learning the catchy songs and repetitive rhyming script. The comments from the audience were fantastic, with many saying that it was one of the best performances they have seen. We would like to say congratulations to all of the children and thank you to all of the staff for helping to make it such a wonderful night.
Tickets were sold in advance as well as on the door and videos of the performance as well as calendars that the children had made were also sold. A grand total of more than £300 was raised towards the children's own company, GREEN's. We think that this is an amazing amount for such a small school - it just goes to show how successful the evening was.
