GREENS! 2012

Getting into swing with some strategic planting in our new garden beds.

GREENS! is the name of the school company run by the children. This was started 5 years ago as part of our Aylsham High School cluster Enterprise project. One of the children becomes the managing director. We also have a Finance manager who keeps a record of our accounts on a spreadsheet (with a little help from our secretary!) which is audited annually.

At the end of the year the children plan and cost outings to spend any profit. In the past these have included: a day at Banham zoo, a trip to London to see 'Grease', a pantomime at the Maddermarket theatre, a visit to the Sea Life Centre and rides on the Bure Valley Railway.

Photographs are taken by the children form part of a scrapbook recording events throughout the year.

Our lunchtime gardening club grows fruit, vegetables, plants and flowers to sell. We have our own greenhouse and 4 raised beds, as well as containers.

We also have special themed days making crafts or baking yummy cakes, biscuits, chocolates and bread to sell with help from Aylsham Evening and 'special guest cooks'.

We have sales at school every term and sell to the wider community at our Christmas performance in the village hall. That's not all....we have also  had a stall at Aylsham Farmers' market.
